At the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office, under the leadership of District Attorney Ron Freitas, our mission is clear: to serve and support victims of crime with unwavering dedication. Mr. Freitas is the elected chief prosecutor for the County and represents the People of the State of California in criminal and related civil cases presented before the Superior Court of San Joaquin County. Minimum Requirements

DA Investigator:

• Experience: Five years of experience as a peace officer in a public law enforcement agency including two years performing felony investigations in an investigative unit.
  

• License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license.

• Certificates: Possession of an Intermediate P.O.S.T. Certificate

Minimum Requirements

DA Investigative Assistant:

• Experience: One year of law enforcement, investigative, or related work.

  OR

  
  

• Education: Completion of 60 semester units from an accredited college or university with emphasis in administration of justice, social or behavioral science, public or business administration, or related field.

• Experience: Two years of experience conducting investigations for a law enforcement agency, district attorney office or public defender office or welfare agency at a level comparable to or higher than District Attorney Investigative Assistant I.

  AND

• License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
